‘Walking Dead’ creator explains his original vision for the series

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman sure does like Destiny. The sixth season premiere certainly suggests as much. The Walking Dead’s 150th issue hits shelves in January, so you would think the folks at AMC would trust Kirkman’s judgement with just about every aspect of the story, right? Now that the New York Comic Con has kicked off, we have a lot more to show you from the company’s partnership with the popular comic/TV property, including a Negan figure(!) and several incredibly detailed construction sets. “Just continue to decay them up”. “I don’t know when that’ll happen though”. Kirkman joked that Ed O’Neill would be his choice of casting for Negan.

“Maggie’s charm is growing, like all others, but she’s really become notably assertive”. It’s good to have a lot of new people in the mix and seeing Rick interact with these people in a “safe place” with the misconception on how the worlds works now and all the conflict that comes with that.

There are also reports that in addition to featuring a possible dilemma for Abraham and Darryl, speculations are rife that “The Walking Dead” comic book characters Negan and Jesus would be coming to Season 6 of the TV series.

“This is going to be the most intense season of The Walking Dead yet. I do know when but I can’t say”. Overall, the theme of the discussion was MORE of everything. However, I do enjoy the idea of having two great shows for The Walking Dead and a few great twists and turns in the comic book.

The director also assured fans that the premiere episode of Season 6 will surely fill up the answers to numerous fan questions that were left unanswered during the Season 5 finale. I just hope that the need to always be stepping things up and make things “bigger and better” doesn’t change the product that we’ve grown to love over the years.
