Kevin Love opts out of contract with Cavs – Hudson Hub
Free agency officially begins on July 1. RealGM reports that the Cavaliers could consider a sign and trade with Love and one of his suitors if he wants to leave the team. Here are some possible destinations for Kevin Love. But as of right now, they are rebuilding by adding young talent. During his time with the Wolves, the Lakers were often linked to Love, but those talks died down when he eventually moved to the Cavaliers with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

In the next few weeks, the Cavs have other pressing roster issues, including trying to sign superstar LeBron James to a long-term contract extension.
No matter what, though, this offseason just became a small more interesting. Although for Houston to land Love, a sign-and-trade will have to be executed to make it work.
The worst case scenario for the Cavs is if Love opts to become an unrestricted free agent. Love spent his college days with the UCLA Bruins and this may be the Los Angeles homecoming everyone in La La Land is waiting for. However, the Cavs are expected to re-sign the 2011 NBA Most Improved Player who had publicly said that he will stay with the team to win championships.
The ex- Minnesota Timberwolves star hasn’t had an easy transition year in Cleveland as he encountered various issues with his role and playing alongside James throughout the regular season. And once the playoffs started they reared their ugly heads. Does Love want to come back here?

At the time, Smith told Cleveland.com he “absolutely” plans to be a Cavalier next season. Love, however, may see his value diminish if he struggles for another year in Cleveland. What’s unknown is how or if the Cavaliers are going to bring him back. Phoenix has enough pieces to be playoff contenders the next few years. But if Love is patient, he’ll have himself his own team in one year. That won’t stop a number of teams from lining up to present the All-Star forward with their best sales pitch, and you can bet that the Boston Celtics will be in line. Porzingis has played the last 21/2 years for Seville of Spain’s ACB, one of the best leagues in the world. The Celtics presently hold the 16th and 28th picks in the first round.
