Entertainment News Online reports that Benson posted a photo of her in a lion costume, asking her followers for their opinion on her chosen Halloween costume. Thus, she maybe didn’t need to actually *call* it a Cecil the Lion costume?
She received a few seriously negative feedback after posting a Halloween-themed selfie to her Instagram account earlier this week, and now Ashley Benson has issued an apology.

So basically, either someone from Benson’s camp screwed up, or the “Pretty Little Liars” actress is just trying to save face by throwing her lackeys under the bus.
While Benson was quick to edit the caption later referring the one-piece as simply a “lion costume”, she continued to receive backlash from other users, Refinery 29 reported.

The “Spring Breakers” actress then told her say regarding the incident and explained that it was of an innocent favor and accident. The 13-year-old animal made headlines this summer after he was killed in Zimbabwe by a Minnesota dentist.
