Nissan showcases Teatro for Dayz concept ahead of Tokyo debut

Nissan says it’s designed for digital natives, who are accustomed to using digital devices to share content so why should the vehicle be any different?

The Teatro for Dayzs boxy, floating-roof design, zero-emissions powertrain, and state-of-the-art connectivity is Nissansremedy to get share natives interested in cars. This term is “share natives”, implying that they have grown up always talking about themselves on social media.

Nissan minimized clumsy knobs and switches.

Nowadays it looks like concepts from video games are making their way into real life more often then not.

“It is an out-of-the-box concept that defies convention and rejects restrictions”, Nissan said.

The Teatro for Dayz is an electric auto, seen above in recharging mode. Now the Teatro for Dayz is looking to take things even further at Tokyo 2015.

For them, driving simply means less time interacting with friends.

For share natives, cars exist outside the orbit of connected life.

Automakers are rethinking packaging to lure them back. And the onboard digital camera allows drivers and passengers to instantly share any experience in or around the vehicle.

Teatro for Dayz will be exhibited at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.

The concept gets an all-electric drivetrain and substantial external restyling.

The term digital natives – as you, dear website reader, are no doubt aware – refers to the generation that’s grown up surrounded by constantly connected digital devices, such as the phone, table or computer you are now perusing. Instead, the gleaming white exterior aims to emulate the handheld gadgets that are the totems of today’s youth. “Perhaps the significance of ‘Concept 2020” indicates the wait will be longer…

The Teatro For Dayz concept is a sort of a sad statement.

Nissan isn’t the first vehicle company to think about lots of displays in a concept. The concept has been developed exclusively for the virtual world of Gran Turismo 6 but also hints at styling themes we can expect on the next-generation, R36 Nissan GT-R due out later this decade.

Nissan says that the driver can hide unnecessary information on the screen and adjust the size of displays like gauges and maps.
