Celta Vigo striker Nolito staying grounded over

Celta Vigo sporting director Miguel Torrecilla has admitted coveted star Nolito could leave the club during the January transfer window if any suitors meet his release clause.

On September 23, Celta stunned Barcelona 4-1, with Nolito getting Celta on the board first in the 25th minute on a high shot that slipped into the net just out of reach of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The forward has scored five times in seven La Liga games to kick off the season and has been rewarded with a call-up to the Spain squad for their Euro 2016 qualification matches against Luxembourg and Ukraine.

The Coach is said to feel that if Barca decide to go for a more short-term signing – that is, a player capable of stepping into the side immediately – then Nolito is ideal.

“I don’t want to talk too much about him because it can create problems when a player is under contract to another team”.

“But what I know is that I’m glad to be at Vigo, I am happy”. I woke up to breakfast and saw myself on the cover [of the newspapers in Barcelona].

“As I said, I try to keep it out, it’s not good to be distracted with these things”.

“Whatever has to happen will happen”.

Despite the speculation regarding his future, however, Nolito claims he is relaxed and remains focussed on helping his current employers.
