The Early Access version of ARK: Survival Evolved is also part of Steam’s Midweek Madness offer, having 33 percent shaved off of its price and bringing it to $19.99 USD/£15.40 GBP.

We now have a figure for the popularity too.

That’s a lot of sales for an early access game and goes to show that if you provide regular updates and are communicative with your community, people might just buy your game.

This would be a triumph for developers of a AAA game with a large budget and team working on it, but it’s even more than that for a small team working without the backing of a giant publisher.

Multiplayer survival and dinosaur hunting game ARK Survival Evolved has sold two million copies since launching on Steam Early Access in June, developer Studio Wildcard has announced.
