Jimmy Butler is exhausted of answering questions about his relationship with Derrick Rose.
Sekou Smith, NBA.com: The Bulls and Derrick Rose both need to take a step back and see where this season takes them before worrying about a potential split. Butler and Rose reportedly had beef a year ago when Rose returned from injury but both players downplayed it. Now there is a report out there that Butler considers Rose a friend but he doesn’t respect his work ethic, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Throughout the summer, Rose stayed in his own lane and worked out in California, while Butler took his new spotlight and constantly squashed any kind of thoughts towards a beef with Rose on and off the court. Butler entered the league unheralded and as a pure energy and defense type player who evolved into a 3-and-D wing and then again evolved into a star by continuously adding something to his game.
Butler had a breakout season a year ago as he averaged 20 points per game. With the Cleveland Cavaliers gearing up for an aggressive run this time around, courtesy of a highly energized LeBron James and a returning Kevin Love, the basketball squad of Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler are in for a challenging run for the championship title.
The pass is pretty enough as Butler drops it right into Mirotic’s hands where he can just explode up for a layup but the start of the play may be even more impressive.
Well, as for the two stars minding their own business and letting their play, there are a few who still believe that Butler and Rose aren’t getting along. Butler’s been taking the initiative as a vocal leader for the Bulls, and with the regular season still a little ways away, the Butler-Rose stuff has unfortunately been non-stop since the rumors broke wild in May.
“I have to man up because I’ve been here longer than a lot of guys now”.
