“I gave D’haquille the chance to prove himself”.

According to a witness, Williams punched four different people during a rampage at a bar following Auburn’s win over San Jose State this past weekend. “Great kid, hard worker, the type of kid you want to see good things happen to”. “Some of the guys are doing a few things this week, but our main goal is to get them healthy for the stretch run”.

The practice occurred less than a day after the announcement that star wide receiver D’haquille “Duke” Williams was dismissed from the football program for undisclosed reasons.

Asked about the reaction from Duke Williams upon hearing the news, Malzahn said, “Not much”.

“I feel we got better”, Malzahn said. “We feel like he has a lot of potential He’s still taking the first reps in practice”. “You’ve got Tony Stevens”, Malzahn said. “We had a really good practice, lot of guys laying out for balls, making insane catches”.

The Auburn Tigers have had a promising season turn dismal in the first month. He was one of the team’s top offensive threats in 2014 with 45 catches for 730 yards and five touchdowns.

“I think (Louis is) in a position to really take that next step forward”, Malzahn said.

Coaches are already evaluating the wide receivers to see who will replace Williams in the starting lineup. “It also opens up some opportunities for a few young guys”, Malzahn said.

“(Harris) wasn’t out there with us today, but I feel like he’ll probably be back before the week’s out”, Malzahn said.

Again, it has been quite a year for the “troubled” football player.
