Former TNA wrestler James Storm debuts with WWE NXT

If you don’t remember Cal Bishop, he’s made infrequent appearances on NXT shows and live events since 2013, most notably in this weird scene with Sylvester LeFort where he needed to put on trousers.

Storm’s arrival just underscores what the WWE Universe already realizes: You just never know who will show up in NXT.

As for Storm, it appears The Cowboy had a good time in his debut. He faced Martin Stone is singles action and ending up winning his first NXT match on Thursday night.

James Storm made his NXT debut last night in Orlando, FL. Storm competed in a match against Danny Burch that was taped for the WWE Network and will air next Wednesday. A few days later it was speculated that Storm was contemplating a role as a coach in NXT. “Cowboy” worked on a few GFW shows but ultimately decided NXT and the WWE would be the next step in his career. If NXT is going to become WWE’s third, touring brand then adding guys like Storm and Rood makes a ton of sense.

An instant classic main event, standout performances from Tyler Breeze and Apollo Crews and the final battles of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic made sure that NXT continued its habit of outdoing itself.

Honestly, who will Triple H bring in next? The WWE Twitter account broke the news last night as the match was taking place.
