In Microsoft’s Windows 10 event on Tuesday, October 6, held in New York City, Lumia 950, 950 XL and 550 are the three newest smartphones Microsoft has revealed as Popular Science reports. According to Tuula Rytila, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for phones and new devices; Microsoft feels that it is “the best distribution for this family of devices”.

The devices represent a bigger push on Microsoft’s part into advanced digital security and biometrics in particular. The device features liquid cooling.

The company also says it has had over 1 billion visits to the Windows Store from Windows 10 devices since the operating system was released on July 29. The difference perhaps mainly rests on their processor and display screen, for Lumia 950 XL is powered by an octa-core processor, while on the other hand the new Lumia 950 uses only a hexa-core processor. These phones must also have at least 8GB of internal memory, and have the Lumia Denim software update installed. This is Microsoft’s answer to the Macbook Air.

After years of competing in the smartphone industry, Microsoft decides to take on a niche market instead, focusing on sophisticated business-oriented customers. It was said that compared to Apple’s MacBook Pro, its twice as fast.

It’s not completely clear which Windows Phones will get an upgrade to Windows 10, but Microsoft are hoping to upgrade “the majority of Lumia smartphones” to the new OS in the near future. The phone has also blessed with 20 Mega Pixel rear camera with LED flash Light and 5 MP front camera which quite good for selfies.

Against the backdrop of the advantage of the “Continuum” feature of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets, Nadella said: “Think about an emerging market, like where I grew up”.
