Google Launches Android 6.0 Marshmallow on Nexus Devices

Google directly updates Nexus and Android One handsets, while others have to depend on their mobile OEMs and telecom carriers to roll out the Android updates with customization. Google on its blog said: “Android Marshmallow is the sweetest, smartest Android version yet”.

Surprisingly, there is no information about the latest Android One smartphone Lava Pixel V1 receiving the Marshmallow update. Android users will have to wait a little longer since the update will have to go from a large procedure.

Rather than wait for the OTA for your device, you could always download the Android 6.0 Marshmallow ZIP files instead, as this would save all that time waiting, but where do you locate them we hear you ask?

However, certain reports speculate that Nexus devices would not be the only ones to receive the update at first. The G2 is already two years old so this would be unexpected for its owners.

Google’s initiative to push the Marshmallow update has also forced likes of Motorola, HTC and Samsung to work on the update for its range of smartphones.

The search giant announced last month that several Nexus devices would receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update beginning this week.

Marshmallow, with its slew of new features, has been hotly anticipated, perhaps more than any over the mobile operating system’s previous iterations. But with their future being quite uncertain, should we hope and pray for Android 6.0 Marshmallow to reach GPE devices?

Just be aware that updating from a factory image will wipe your device clean, so make sure you save everything you need to keep first. Android 6.0 Marshmallow will also introduce better privacy control by allowing users to control the amount of information to be accessed by Android apps.
