“Our agencies will comply with the court’s order”, Jindal said.

Jindal’s is the only state that has yet to issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple since the Friday ruling.

“It’s a sad outcome for the rule of law – and the English language”, said Mr Jindal who like other Republican governors has refused to set up a marketplace or exchange where people can shop for affordable health insurance.

The Louisiana Clerks of Court Association is advising its members – who issue marriage licenses in nearly all parishes – to wait 25 days before serving same-sex couples.

“We have to fight for religious liberty”, Jindal said.

CHUCK TODD: I want to go to the launch of your campaign.

“If we want to save some money, let’s just get rid of the court”, Mr Jindal added.

“Hillary Clinton and the Left will now mount an all-out assault on religious freedom guaranteed in the first amendment”, Jindal said of the Democratic 2016 front-runner. “We’re not going away”.

Appearing on “Meet the Press,” the GOP presidential candidate noted that in the Friday ruling making same-sex marriage legal nationwide, Chief Justice John Roberts dissented, writing that the ruling was not based on the Constitution.

If I were afraid of polls, I never would have been elected in two landslide elections, winning the highest percentage in our state’s last election for governor. “Marriage between a man and a woman was established by God, and no earthly court can alter that”.

In the face of criticism from many Republicans and conservative columnists about his presidential campaign and his tenure as governor, Jindal said his record reflects taking on the status quo. “How are they going to designate that? and will they leave it up to the participants, the people that are getting married?”, said Jagneaux.
