However, never before has an Indian boxer’s professional debut generated this kind of hype.

Indian Boxing sensation Vijender Singh is all set to face his opponent Sonny Whiting in his professional debut at Manchester Arena, United Kingdom on Saturday 10th October 2015.
Vijender is training under renowned trainer Lee Beard, who is mighty impressed with the Indian’s technical knowledge and power. “It was my dream to reach here and before my first professional bout, I just want to say I am ready to get into the ring”.
“He will hit me and I will hit him, but the end result would be in my favour”.
The 29-year-old from Bhiwani has been going through rigorous sparring sessions besides indulging in outdoor activities to keep himself fresh before this crucial bout. He’s making his debut and I’ll give him a hard welcome to the professional game.
In a statement which encourages Vijender’s fans amidst all the trash talk before the fight, he said that he will let his boxing do the talking. Well, at least, nothing menacing and even remotely tangential to the “I’m going to destroy him” line or whatever is more cliched when it comes to pre-fight repartee. This includes 8-10 hours at the academy and gym, with running around the city on fixed days.
Vijender has been training with him for more than a month and has worked on his endurance during this period.
The bout has already created hype around England and celebrities like English footballer Wayne Rooney and boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather Jr. are likely to watch Vijender’s bout. He won’t be able to stand my body shots and I’ll break him in half with them.
“I’m a proud fighter who will go in there and give it everything I’ve got and I’m not laying down in front of anyone”. The fight will have four rounds of three minutes each. I have been training alongside Jack (Catteral) and Jimmy (Kelly).
“I will put this kid through hell”, Whiting warned during the face-off, which is always a big event ahead of a profession boxing fight. The match will take place at Manchester Arena, United Kingdom.
Vijender Singh, in his own words, has achieved everything he could in his career as an amateur boxer for India.

Vijender has been living out of the suitcase these days, which is quite different from his amateur boxing days in NIS, Patiala. I am not under any pressure, I am taking this as a responsibility. Vijender hasn’t said much in the run up to the fight.
