The Pack preps to take on New Mexico

Good afternoon/evening from Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nev., where the New Mexico Lobos and their lupine brethren, the Nevada Wolf Pack, will tee it up in about 20 minutes. The defense forced a quick 3-and-out and the Pack offense had the ball in Lobo territory to start the fourth quarter before Nias Martin’s 77-yard fumble return pulled the Lobos within 21-17.

New Mexico (3-3, 1-1) quarterback Austin Apodaca came off the bench in the fourth quarter and completed seven straight passes, driving to the Wolfpack 25-yard line. There’s 9:36 left in the first quarter. Don Jackson ran for 152 yards on 22 attempts, and James Butler gained 145 yards on 21 carries. On the defensive side, Jordan Dobrich tallied a game-high and season-high 12 tackles with one fumble recovery.

The Nevada (2-2) will host New Mexico (2-2) in a NCAA College Football game at the Mackay Stadium, Reno, NV on October 10, 7:00 PM. New Mexico will be looking for revenge as Nevada has taken the last two meetings in 2011 and 2012.

Nevada run defense won’t be able to keep the Lobo ground attack in check. The play put Nevada ahead 35-17 and clinched Nevada’s first MW victory of the season.
