Dodgers’ Kershaw Records 300th Strikeout of Season
Thanks to the best 1-2 pitching punch in all of baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers are favored to win the National League pennant in 2015. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers would start Kershaw on three days’ rest in a potential Game 4 against the Mets. DeGrom has never pitched on short rest but that decision will be complicated for the Mets by Steven Matz’s health status.

The Dodgers won the National League West for the third straight year, thanks to the All-Star bat of first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, and Cy Young Award candidate pitchers Zack Grienke and Clayton Kershaw.
I believe it is safe to say that the vast majority of us find ballpark marriage proposals to be one of the worst elements of attending a baseball game. Obviously, we weren’t winning when he took over, and we didn’t play that well for him. “It’s nice to go out there and back up that thought we had in spring training”.
It should not have been a surprise to anyone that the Mets struggled offensively late in September. Cuddyer may wind up seeing more playing time than rookie Michael Conforto, given the three left-handers in Los Angeles’ rotation.
“The back end of the bullpen has been excellent with the additions of Addison [Reed] and Tyler [Clippard]”. That leaves one available spot for Jon Niese (the favorite), Sean Gilmartin or Carlos Torres. And most importantly, he’s handled the first three projected NLDS starters for the Mets pretty decently.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are counting on Clayton Kershaw to shake off past playoff disappointments when they give the left-handed hurler the ball Friday for their post-season opener against the New York Mets. On Saturday, Game 2 will be at 6 p.m.at Dodger Stadium.
Kershaw struck him out on a nasty curveball, to become the first pitcher since Curt Schilling and Randy Johnson in 2002 to record 300 strikeouts in a season. However, expect Kershaw to dominate on the mound for LA. Manager Terry Collins has already intimated that lefty regulars Daniel Murphy, Lucas Duda and Curtis Granderson will all start Game 1. It’s unfair to judge the Mets on such games, especially when they didn’t always have their top-choice lineup on the field. The Mets fell to the Dodgers in the NLCS in seven games in 1988 before sweeping the Dodgers in the NLDS in 2006.
The Dodgers announced their rotation Tuesday a few hours after their workout, which featured a simulated game thrown by various pitchers, including Anderson and relievers Carlos Frias, Joel Peralta and Juan Nicasio.

Los Angeles extended its lead to 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth with two home runs against right-hander Jon Edwards. They scored two runs in their final 43 innings of the regular season. Greinke sports a minuscule 1.46 ERA at Dodger Stadium and a still ridiculous but higher ERA of 1.88 on the road.
