Montreal dominates Boston in 4-2 win
Alex Galchenyuk, Montreal’s 21-year-old super talent, appears to be enjoying his move from the left wing back to center. After a pass from Galchenyuk, Alexander Semin’s slide-pass to Lars Eller led to another puck buried in the Bruins net, giving the Habs a 2-0 lead 2 minutes and 15 seconds into the 2nd period. I’d be curious to see what Devante Smith-Pelly (who played a solid game along with his line mates) could do on a line with Fleischmann and Desharnais.

October 10, 2015; Boston, MA, U.S.; Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban (76) wears a winter classic hat during warmups prior to a game against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden. The Canadiens were victorious in all four matchups last season and have won six in a row in Boston. “We just go out there and try to have fun and try to help the team win”. Plekanec would score an empty net goal with 53 seconds left in the game. “We’re starting to find each other”, he said. The Canadiens quickly quieted the crowd 1:07 later when Eller scored on another one-timer to put Montreal up 3-0.
Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask (40) dives to make a save over… He is just 3-14-3 lifetime in the regular season against Montreal.
Chris Thorburn and Nicolas Petan scored in the third period after the Bruins came within one goal, and the Jets opened the season with the franchise’s first victory in Boston since 2007.
Bruins coach Claude Julien challenged a waved-off goal – Julien’s first challenge under the NHL’s new system.
“I’m disappointed”, Julien said. “(Krejci) made a nice pass and I got a lucky bounce off a skate.
Matt Beleskey’s goal late in the second period was the only offense for Boston until Patrice Bergeron scored with 31 seconds to play.
Beleskey, who signed as a free agent during the offseason, has two points so far this year.
Marchand left the game and did not return. Marchand headed in the direction of the bench but was clearly dazed and was then helped down the runway to the dressing room.
Ryan Spooner was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for this hit.
The 3rd period showed quite a struggle for the Bruins, as the Habs were coming off stronger offensively despite having a few sloppy defense early on.
“He seemed confident”, defenseman Torey Krug said of Miller.
The Bruins look bad without Zdeno Chara. This was the 730th game between the rivals, moving them past the 729 played by the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings….

Looking ahead: The Canadiens will be in Ottawa on Sunday (7 p.m., Sportsnet, TVA Sports, TSN Radio-690) and they will conclude their four-game, season-opening road trip Tuesday in Pittsburgh. Bruins D Colin Miller made his National Hockey League debut and logged 16:13 of ice time.
