The New Coolpad Note 3 will be exclusively available via online retailer like Amazon India.

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad on Friday launched its Note 3 smartphone in Indian market at Rs 8,999.

It expects to roll out half a million devices from its facility in Maharashtra and the first indigenously manufactured Coolpad phones will be available by the first quarter of the next financial year.

The Note 3 houses a fingerprint scanner at the back which support 360-degree finger rotation.

“India is very crucial market for Coolpad and we believe we will learn a lot from our investments here”.

“The Indian consumer knows his smartphones well and to develop a successful product that is both robust and technically sound is imperative”. It has 16 GB of in-built storage which is expandable up to 64 GB via a microSD card, a dual-SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, 3G and GSM network frequencies. “The Coolpad Note 3 stands testimony to our commitment and effort”. Could it be a tough competitor for other leading brands in mid-range category? This is the first smartphone with Fingerprint scanner and 3GB RAM, which is priced so low.

“Coolpad is known for its technical expertise to manufacture innovative and cutting edge smartphones, which is in line with Videocon’s vision, making this partnership mutually beneficial”, said Abhijit Kotnis, chief operating officer (manufacturing operations and global sourcing), Videocon Industries. “Dazen is no longer a part of Coolpad and has been separated due to a change in investor relations”, Luo added.
