Bethesda has ‘concerns’ about Battlecry and is ‘evaluating’ it

It seems like they have the game in hand, putting the studio working on it on other things and are deciding whether or not it’s worth the time to publish and support the game after launch.

“We have concerns about the Battlecry game and whether it is meeting the objectives we have for it…” Though according to the statement, the developer is busy with “multiple projects”.

The problem with the game might be that Bethesda could not see how the game could capture the attention of players in the long-term in order to make the free-to-play business model work for the experience.

BattleCry was unveiled in May 2014, and the team-based action game has since appeared at numerous trade shows and events, but was missing from EB Expo last weekend.

This doesn’t sound like good news for Battlecry Studios, which was set up specifically for this project.

During its E3 2015 press conference, Bethesda also announced Bethesda.net, an online service similar to what Blizzard has developed with Battle.net that will act as the company’s central hub for everything Bethesda.
