Draft Biden announced plans to pull the ad nearly immediately after word emerged in a Los Angeles Times report that Biden had seen the ad and hoped it wouldn’t run. It’s taken from a commencement address at Yale University this year, where the vice president talked about the tragedy that killed his wife and daughter in 1972 and his commitment to his family.

“The incredible bond I have with my children is the gift I m not sure I would have had, had I not been through what I went through”, said Biden.
Biden has said caring for his two sons was what got him through the heartbreak of losing his wife and daughter.

The ad is unusual in its length – 90 seconds – and its movie-like quality.
“Obviously we will honor his wishes.” said Josh Alcorn, a top Draft Biden organizer and former political director for Beau Biden.
