Melanie Liburd Joins Game Of Thrones As A Red Priestess
Though little is known of her character, its expected that she comes from the same Lord of Light-worshipping sect as Carice Van Houten’s Melissandre.

Melanie Liburd has been cast as a Red Priestess in the upcoming “Game of Thrones” Season 6. According to their report, she may be replacing Carice van Houten as Melisandre, the Red Woman now occupying the Wall. Eventually, he (seemingly) died at the hands of Brienne, though there are of course a few out there who believe that he could still be alive.
There have been wishful rumors that Melisandre would be instrumental in bringing back the character of Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington.
“Game of Thrones“, fresh off an Emmy win for Best Outstanding Drama Series, is now filming its sixth season in multiple locations throughout Europe. Does that also mean that however powerful Melisandre is, she couldn’t resurrect one person on her own? When the “Game of Thrones” panel and stars Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell) and Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand) were asked which character they’d like to interact, all three answered with “Jon Snow”. Another additions for “GOT” Season 6 are Freddie Stroma who will play Samwell’s brother, Ian McShane, his role still remains a mystery and Max von Sydow who will play the role of the Three-Eyed Raven.

Joining HBO’s hit fantasy series will no doubt give her career a strong boost, and we look forward to seeing her when Game of Thrones returns next year.
