HTC’s One A9 dummy look leaks; shows an iPhone copy
Thanks to T-Mobile’s recent listing regarding their update process, we now know that the HTC One M8 Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is real and should be arriving soon enough. The most recent appear to peg it as a mid-range handset and it’s expected to be formally unveiled at an October 20th event. We will need to wait until the device is officially announced to understand availability and pricing, and to glean a better understanding of what HTC means when it comes to the “hero” moniker they have applied to the One A9. Those coming from Lollipop won’t really notice too many changes, but those from KitKat or Jelly Bean will definitely be a bit confused at first – only to swiftly come to appreciate the smooth, responsive and tailored user experience. The HTC list did mention that the HTC One M9 and the HTC One M8 will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow by the end of 2015. The fingerprint sensor is now in the front.

On the busy bottom edge of the device is a microUSB 2.0 port (bad luck to those hoping for Type-C) that is slightly off-center. Also, at the bottom, you can easily spot the speakers that looks like what’s on the Lenovo Phab Plus, of course, also on the iPhone 6 where it is believed these guys got their inspiration. It is expected that HTC will launch A9 in multiple colours. Unconfirmed specs so far include a Snapdragon 617 processor, 5-inch AMOLED display with Full HD resolution, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage (expandable). The protruding rear camera is reportedly of the 13-megapixel variety, while the front shooter is said to be a 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera. When it was first rumored it was thought that it would be a high-end smartphone, and interest among a few waned somewhat when we learned otherwise.

HTC’s next smartphone has been making its way through the rumour mill for an age, and the leaks are seriously mounting up.
