Injured R Ashwin ruled out; Harbhajan Singh included in the ODI squad
Ravichandran Ashwin has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series after he sustained an injury during the first one-day against South Africa at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur on Sunday. AB and Farhaan scored a quick 65 from just 4.5 overs for the sixth wicket and that eventually will be the turning point if India fall short of runs and lost the opening ODi of the five-match series.

The Indian off-spinner suffered the injury while trying to stop an AB de Villiers’ shot during the 32nd over of the match.
Offspinner R Ashwin has picked up a a side strain during the first ODI against South Africa in Kanpur. However, the Indian cricket board did not mention how long Ashwin will be out of action.
The 29-year-old managed to come back onto the field after six overs, but his second spell lasted all but one over.
Ashwin’s availability in the remainder of the series will be subject to medical assessment. Harbhajan will join the team before the second match of the series in Indore. If Ashwin fails to recover in time and misses few matches, then it’s going to be a big blow for Team India, as he has been the most consistent bowler of late.
Harbhajan Singh was a regular in the Indian team across all the formats before he was dropped in 2011. Harbhajan, 35, has claimed 263 wickets in 232 one-day internationals.

India also have Amit Mishra and Axar Patel as spin options in the squad, with Mishra also playing in the first ODI.
