The new Surface Pro 4 and Lumia handsets, which had been a center of the Microsoft pre-event rumor mill, were expected to appear onstage.

Panos Panay from Microsoft described the Surface Book as the “ultimate laptop” and the “thinnest and most powerful PC ever created”. The Surface pro has a detachable screen with a 13.5- inch display, a backlit keyboard, a glass trackpad and a machined magnesium body.
Microsoft also promises a more receptive device with the Surface Pro 4.
Both the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL will ship with Windows 10 when the new smartphones hit shelves next month.
“We’re moving people from needing to choosing to loving Windows and these devices promise to fuel even more enthusiasm and opportunity for the entire Windows ecosystem”, chief executive Satya Nadella said at the event.
Microsoft added that not all handset models will get to receive the Windows 10 update since the latest version of the platform requires updated hardware specs to run properly. The Microsoft Band 2, which allows users to monitor their fitness and exercise regime, will be priced at $249 when it becomes available. However, the company did not reveal a release date of Windows 10 Mobile for existing Lumia devices. Windows 10 is now only available on tablets and PCs, however, its mobile version may become available in December on selected phones. According to the rep, it seems that Microsoft made a decision to scale back retail availability, so AT&T will be the only carrier you will be able to purchase them from. Microsoft aims to put Windows 10 on at least one billion devices within three years.
This high-end device also has an impressive camera with a 20-megapixel PureView camera with triple LED flash. Microsoft’s Surface Book runs on Windows 10 while the Macbook Pro has Apple’s OS X El Capitan.
