The nationwide grocery store chain is recalling its Papillon Organic Roquefort Cheese. And to this end, all batches for all sales dates are to be recalled.

The grocery company recalls this particular brand in their stores around the country, after the discovery of bacteria that causes listeria infections. Consumers who already bought the product can return it and the receipt to the store and receive a full refund. If a pregnant woman gets infected by the bacteria, she can have a miscarriage or stillbirth. Listeria monocytogenes is a mortal bacteria. The same can also be said for those who are suffering from HIV/AIDS or other autoimmune diseases, as well as those with cancer, end-stage renal disease, liver disease, alcoholism and diabetes. Most random carrier of listeria in animals includes poultry and cattle. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Sabra had to recall approximately 30,000 cases of hummus because of Listeria back in April.

Whole Foods Market has recalled one of its organic cheeses sold nationwide over concerns of Listeria contamination. Healthy adults may experience high fever, diarrhea, abdominal pain and nausea.

Listeria can cause serious complications, such as meningitis, an acute inflammation of the membranes that cover the spine and brain. Other foods, such as vegetables, can also carry listeria, usually after contracting it from contaminated soil. Consumers should seek immediate medical care if they develop these symptoms.
