Banks: Banks will be closed, the bond market is closed, the stock market will be open.
All City of Bedford, county, Mitchell and Oolitic offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Columbus Day. To obtain the phone number of a specific Post Office, customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS.
Liquor stores: Open at noon at owner’s discretion.
Retail stores: Open at owner’s discretion. The holiday commemorates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the Americas on October. 12, 1492.
