The Miami Dolphins, as well as other teams, are reportedly going to inquire about New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton after the 2015 season.

Payton has connections to Dolphins interim coach Dan Campbell, who was promoted Monday after Joe Philbin was sacked in the wake of a disappointing 1-3 start to the season.

Adam Schefter reports that teams are expected to look into nabbing Payton after the season is over.

Payton signed an extension with the Saints in 2013, and his contract runs through 2017. The Indianapolis Colts, with Coach Chuck Pagano on the hot seat and working on the a year ago of his contract, are another interested team.

Payton is 81-51 overall with the Saints, has a 6-4 record in the postseason and led the Saints to a Super Bowl title in the 2009 season.

It appears that teams will try to persuade Sean Payton to trade in his black and gold this offseason.

But it might be wishful thinking entirely, as Schefter said there’s no indication if the Saints or Payton would be willing to even talk about letting him go elsewhere.
