Bears WR Alshon Jeffery not expected to play Sunday
The Bears weren’t expected to have wide receiver Alshon Jeffery in the lineup to face the Chiefs on Sunday and his absence was confirmed when the team released its inactive list on Sunday morning. It will be the fourth straight game that Jeffery misses. Jeffery, too, missed the entire preseason with a mild calf strain.

Jermon Bushrod was officially ruled out for the game, and the Bears won’t know the status of several other key players until gameday. The Bears targeted Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium for Jeffery to make his return, but Friday’s development is hardly encouraging.
Quarterback Jay Cutler is also listed as questionable as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury, as is back-up quarterback Jimmy Clausen. Fellow rookie Harold Jones-Quartey will make his first National Football League start, replacing Antrel Rolle.
Last week, the Bears kept two players active – Sutton and Ball – with no plans to play them, due to injury.

“As soon as [Jeffery is] ready to go, it’ll be interesting to see kind of how we evolve and adapt and try and use him to his strengths and get him rolling”, offensive coordinator Adam Gase said.
