Miami Dolphins sack head coach Joe Philbin
The Jets beat the Dolphins, 27-14, in London on Sunday.

Miami has looked uninspired during its three-game losing streak and, subsequently, fired head coach Joe Philbin.
Maybe Golden will be fired after the year even with a few progress, but if the Canes start mailing it in like Philbin’s Dolphins, the pressure and calls for Golden’s dismissal will only get louder.
Somewhat surprisingly, Parcells told me he had no role in advising Dolphins owner Stephen Ross on Campbell’s elevation, but perhaps that’s because as a former Dolphins VP of football operations from 2007-10, Parcells had made his feelings known to Ross regarding Campbell’s qualities and coaching potential. ‘He is a man of the highest character and integrity that I developed a close personal relationship with. “I have to change the culture and that’s what I intend to do, and what that means is we have to become a more aggressive front, or team in general”.
Tight ends coach Campbell was promoted to interim coach.
“I would say I’m not here just to finish the season out”, said Campbell. Will either still be on the sideline by the time the Miami Dolphins play their next scheduled game in two weeks?
Dolphins players found out in different ways about the coaching change that took place Monday, but their reaction was pretty similar.
Despite being a relative newcomer to coaching and not having experience as a coordinator, Campbell believes he’s ready for the gig. It was important today that we tried to handle everything with as much respect and dignity as we could.
Make no mistake; the Dolphins are not out of the playoff hunt just yet.
The Dolphins have started poorly in every game and have been outscored 37-3 in the first quarter.
Campbell, who had been Dolphins tight ends coach since 2011, joined the Dolphins as a coaching intern in 2010 after a 10-year career in the NFL.
The Baltimore Ravens got their first win of the season last week, but may have lost a pivotal member of their depleted receiving corps in the process.
Ross added that Campbell is “certainly” a candidate for permanent head coaching job in 2016.

Rumors swirled at the end of last season that Philbin would be fired when his team finished 8-8 for the second straight season and missed the playoffs. He received a contract extension earlier this year that will pay him through the 2016 season. We have people in this building who bring in talent.
