“The economy is so bad, 50 Cent just changed his name to Nickelback”, Fallon said.

“You know, a lot of people think when the Republican field begins to clear, it’ll be down to Jeb Bush and Donald Trump”.

Fallon asked Leno on Tuesday if he’d liked to stick around for the rest of the show, but Leno had other plans.

Jimmy Fallon had a pinch hitter on his monologue last night: Jay Leno. No, he’s not pulling a Conan on Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon then returned to pair up with Leno as the pair exchanged jokes about the United States economy.

After likening Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley’s 2% in the polls to “tying with two percent milk”, Leno pivoted to the crowded Republican field.

Jay Leno’s Garage kicks off its premiere episode on CNBC Wednesday, October 7, at 10 p.m.

“[Kimmel] comes from radio … where you find a few enemy and then you make up a phony battle”, Leno told the “Today” show. “If Bernie Sanders wins he’ll be the first socialist elected president since 2008”, he said. I think he’s a talented guy, I think he’s amusing . Leno is on an unending tour that takes him from comedy clubs to performing arts centers to shows for US troops in the Middle East. “It is so bad in Seattle, I saw a guy panhandling just to pay for his Starbucks”.

While he’s serious about the subject, Leno approaches it in his typically lighthearted way as he travels cross-country for the new show. The monologue was a little political, with cracks about Obamacare, Osama Bin Laden, the economy, and even a crack about the Kardashians.
