Father and son break stereotypes by dressing as Disney princesses for Halloween

Daddy dearest! A dad from Virginia is becoming Internet-famous this week after he shared a cute photo of his 3-year-old son dressed up in a Queen Elsa costume on Sunday, October 4.

Paul Henson is letting his son call the shots this Halloween.

So how is Henson handling the viral nature of his photo?

“When Caiden said he wanted to be Elsa for Halloween we didn’t think twice about it”, wrote Ramage.

These dresses would make a ideal alternative to a Halloween costume or stocking filler.

“Just so happens, this week [Caiden’s] is a princess”.

“He also wants me to be Anna [Queen Elsa’s sister in the movie]”, Henson wrote. He also wants me to be Anna.

“Keep your masculine bullsh-t and slutty kids costumes, Halloween is about children pretending to be their favorite characters”, he continued.

The dad didn’t end his comment there, however, going on to defend his son’s right to be anything he wants for the spooky holiday. Toronto therapist and social worker Heather McPherson says that parents who are concerned that their child may get bullied because of their choice of costume should give them this advice beforehand: “You have to speak with confidence and say, ‘This is fun, this is Halloween, this is my costume, ‘ not defensively, but very confidently”. This is an absolutely incredible bargain and I have not seen any as cheap as this in a long time so make sure you take full advantage of this deal while you can. “As children get older, they distance themselves from their parents”, he said.

Henson told Buzzfeed that his parents raised him to be himself and that’s all he wants for his own son.
