The team said Thursday, October 8, 2015, that Scully was resting comfortably after a recommended procedure earlier in the day.

The Dodgers will host the New York Mets tomorrow in the first game of the National League Division Series.

During the regular season, he only announces home games, along with road games in San Francisco and Anaheim.

Everyone in the Dodgers organization wishes Vin the speediest of recoveries. He was scheduled to call the team’s postseason games on radio.

Scully recently announced that he would return for the 2016 season (with a travel schedule yet to be determined) but he expected that to be his final season. That would be an unprecedented 67 season as a member of the Dodgers’ broadcast crew.

Despite assurances that Scully’s condition is not serious, there will be considerable anxiety about this most famous and most loved Dodger until his voice is heard again on the air.
