Gas prices in Wichita fell almost 3 cents per gallon last week | The Wichita Eagle

Florida’s state average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline ($2.69) is 2 cents cheaper than last week; 91 cents lower than the price on July 4, 2014.

Gas prices are on the decline nationwide as drivers gear up for what AAA expects to be the most traveled Independence Day since 2007.

According to AAA, gas prices across the country have stabilized and, in some areas, have dropped.

Ohio motorists are seeing higher prices at the pump to start the work week. Current prices are about 75 cents less than prices from a year ago.

The national average has increased 3.9 cents per gallon during in the last month but stands 89.6 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.

Gasoline futures dropped 3.4 percent on the New York Mercantile Exchange to $2.0485 a gallon in the two weeks to June 26.

He added that concerns about an oversupplied global market continue to keep downward pressure on the price of crude, despite projected demand growth.

The price in Rhode Island is still a penny more than the national average of $2.77 per gallon.

At the close of formal trading on the NYMEX on Friday, WTI oil was down 7 cents and settled at $59.63 per barrel.
