Kyle Busch captures victory at Sonoma
NASCAR driver Kyle Busch won the Toyota/SaveMart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday, his first victory since an injury at Daytona earlier this year.

Kyle Busch ignored the pain his left foot just long enough to earn one of the most improbable NASCAR Sprint Cup series victories of his career.
At 92 times a Sprint Cup victor and four times a series champion, what better storyline could there be than Gordon jump-starting his final season, locking himself into the Chase for the Sprint Cup in his final year in the series in front of a raucous home crowd?
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Kurt Busch is now the sole favorite to win this race, as he has 4/1 odds.
To make the top 30, Busch has to average roughly a 14th-place finish in each of the next 10 races.
However, a first place finish is huge in changing those odds and if he can keep running toward the top, he will get in.
“I wouldn’t say luck [wins here], but the way yellows fall and the way strategy plays out, it can really shuffle the race”, Allmendinger said.
“I figured the win was going to be the hardest thing to get, but now that that’s here and it’s out of the way, we can now work towards being able to get ourselves in the top 30 and then just get some good solid finishes”, Busch said. For Mr. Bush nabbed second in the Stewart Haas racing Chevy it was the first 12 finish for the Busch Brothers and lawyer ran strong in the Michael Waltrip racing Toyota still in third. Drivers gain points based on how they finish at races, how many laps they lead, and other factors (you can read about here). He started Sunday’s race ranked 39th in the standings, and the win moved him to 37th. There are 10 races left in the season. We’re gonna maintain its third Jimmie Johnson jumps up a notch to fourth and Dale Earnhardt junior dropped one spot to fifth. Busch qualified second for this race, falling only behind A.J.
With seven laps remaining and on fresh tyres, he picked his way past five cars and targeted leader Jimmie Johnson.
Although the brothers’ relationship hasn’t always been smooth, one of the first things Kyle mentioned over his team radio after taking the checkered flag was noting that milestone.
But Busch moved through traffic too quickly for Johnson to hang on for what would have been his fifth win of the season.
Matt Kenseth suffered a left rear tire down on lap 45, but no caution was thrown. “If it’s just an owner’s championship, we’re going to battle as hard as we would battle, but it would certainly be hollow”.
After an 11-race layoff, Kyle Busch returned to NASCAR on May 24 for the All-Star race.
All eyes were on hometown hero Jeff Gordon at Sonoma, who was hoping to lock down a win in what would be his final Sprint Cup race at the Californian road course. Allmendinger began to have engine problems midway through the race, and later needed to go into the garage to fix a fuel cell issue.
Was Sunday’s race at Sonoma Jeff Gordon’s last best shot at a win before this season’s Chase?

He builds great race cars, and it’s a pleasure to drive for him, and I love the team camaraderie.
