It’s going to be another long season for the Kansas City Chiefs, as they lost another one on Sunday to the Chicago Bears.

Chiefs star running back Jamaal Charles was down on the Bears’ nine-yard line and clutching his right knee in obvious pain.

Charles was unable to put weight on the leg as he was helped off the field.

On a run up the middle, Charles was hit by linebacker Sam Acho.

Second-year back Charcandrick West replaced Charles as the Chiefs’ lead back in a close game, while Knile Davis worked in sparingly.

The injury to Charles seemed to deflate the Chiefs, who led 17-3 at that point.

Unfortunately for the Bears, two costly penalties ended up resulting in a Chiefs touchdown. “He’s the type of guy that never gives up”, said receiver Marquess Wilson, whose 22-yard touchdown reception on a flawless throw from Cutler in the left corner of the end zone drew the Bears to within 17-12 with 3:05 remaining. This came after a botched snap and Cutler still followed through.

Except this time it was even more impressive because his wide receivers were even more depleted without Eddie Royal and his coaching staff had no choice but to start rookie Hroniss Grasu at center.

The Vikes need to take care of business themselves, and if they do that, they should be able to beat Kansas City. Cutler’s first-down deep ball to Wilson was well defended by Peters and safety Tyvon Branch, but his next two passes went for first downs.

“I knew we had a shot”, Cutler said of the play. We’ll just see how that goes. It’s embarrassing, and I’m exhausted of watching this dumpster fire of a team go out and get humiliated each week.

– Linebacker Shea McClellin got knocked out of the game in the 3rd quarter with a knee injury.

But it might not be as bad a season in Chicago as everyone thought. The quarterback engineered a clutch two-minute drive capped by Robbie Gould’s game-winning 49-yard field goal with:02 to play.

That set up the penultimate drive of the game for the Bears, who got the ball at their own 33 with a little over two minutes left.
