Match highlights as Richard Wood’s own goal gifts Coventry City victory
In February this year he had a loan spell with Crawley Town and played ten times and joined Fleetwood on a months loan in September where he’s made three appearance helping them to a win in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy over Shrewsbury mid-week.

Steven Pressley is pleased with what he’s seen of Fleetwood Town and believes he has the materials to craft a winning side.
He believes the victory, sealed by Bobby Grant’s late victor, was the most important thing of all. Fleetwood sit 23rd in the table with just nine points from their opening 11 games, and haven’t won in seven outings – losing in the last four.
Both sides struggled to create meaningful chances in the first half, Coventry’s Jacob Murphy going closest to breaking the deadlock.
“There’s elements we must improve on, especially our speed on the counter-attack which improved in the second half”. We have to show more consistency in that department.
“Winning breeds confidence and confidence breeds better performances”. You want to stretch games and you want to have players play in behind, and he certainly did that which is important to us’.
And he was pleased with the opportunity to watch his side away from the dugout.
New manager Steven Pressley has previewed the return to his former club this weekend.
“We’ve had to, but we’ve got our just deserts in the end”. It’s a great football club, we had a few great people. “It was a very good exercise in that respect”.
“The players deserved the opportunity to impress again”.
And Pressley is looking forward to bringing through young talent at Highbury.

On a bitterly cold St Patricks night, Coventry recorded a surprising 2-0 victory at Highbury which severely damaged Fleetwood’s chances of pushing for a play off place and equally dragged City that little bit further away from the relegation places. You have to have the right types. We had a good blend with plenty of legs and energy in the team.
