Gemma Collins ‘banned from I’m a Celebrity’ over health fears

But while she may not get to rough it in the Aussie outback, producers might still jet her Down Under for another role – possibly as a guest on ITV2 spin-off I’m A Celebrity… NOW!.

Gemma, 34, lasted just 72 hours on the show a year ago, but she was allegedly determined to prove herself in the new series – after going on a health kick and shedding an impressive three stone.

Her first couple of days in the jungle were spent locked up with a few of her co-stars, including Coronation Street star Craig Charles, in a prison-like camp where she was forced to live on meagre rations of bland food, and where boredom got the better of her repeatedly.

Gemma Collins – who has shown off her wonderful weight loss recently – didn’t cope well with the pressures of I’m A Celebrity when she appeared past year.

The newspaper states, “After completing the mandatory psych test for contestants, she was deemed too vulnerable”.

However, those of us looking forward to “Gemma’s On-Screen Breakdown: Part Two” are set to have our hopes dashed, as doctors have ruled her “unfit” for the show.

During the 2014 edition of the show, Gemma arrived in the Australian jungle and quickly declared: “I’m not cut out for this”.

“Gemma is gutted because she was desperate to give it another go”, they explained to The Sunday.

However, it is said that ITV bosses are still keen to have her involved in a few way when the show returns later this year.

Apparently they are “desperate for her to step under the waterfall”.

She subsequently feared she had malaria and felt so traumatised by the experience that she threatened to quit showbiz forever.
