Brie Larson in talks to replace Lawrence in “Glass Castle”

Brie Larson has been on the periphery of mega-stardom the last few years and, with the acclaimed awards season hopeful “Room” about to hit theaters, she could hit in a big way.

Now, TheWrap is reporting Larson has selected an appropriately buzzy follow-up pic in The Glass Castle, an adaptation of the bestselling memoir by Jeanette Walls. Walls’ eccentric mother and alcoholic father would stir the the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty. Marti Noxon (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Fright Night”) penned the script that tells the true story of Walls’ childhood, being raised by her dysfunctional parents.

The 26-year-old actress is becoming one of the most in-demand actress these days. And the producers are already turning to another likely candidate, with Brie Larson in early talks to take over her role. She was was recently seen in the Universal pic “Trainwreck”. It’s likely she just couldn’t find the time to fit Glass Castle into her busy schedule and ended up moving along.

Lawrence has been attached to the long-gestating project since late in 2013, when she signed on to star and produce it. But the Lionsgate project has stalled over the years, and Lawrence eventually dropped out. The role was initially going to Jennifer, still she reportedly left the project after a male direct couldn’t be secured, in accordance to Selection.
