A Cruella De Vil Live-Action Movie Is in the Works
Taking cues from last year’s unexpectedly huge Maleficent and this past spring’s Cinderella, both of which cleared $200 million, Disney is accelerating its prep for Cruella, a live-action version of the 101 Dalmations story with an emphasis on the puppy-hating villain, Cruella de Vil.

One of Disney’s longest-gestating live-action fairy tale projects has tasked Fifty Shades of Grey screenwriter Kelly Marcel with penning the movie’s script. Burton’s Alice in Wonderland defied all expectations in grossing $1 billion at the global box office in 2010.
“Bedtime Stories” producer, Andrew Gunn is on board to back the film.
The Cruella project is one of many in the works at Disney that dust off familiar titles from the studio’s overstuffed animated library. Their dates are December 22, 2017, November 2, 2018, March 29, 2019 and November 18, 2019.
The film aims to continue Disney’s recent spate of success with live-action adaptations of classic cartoons.
It seems that Disney is announcing a new in-development live-action remake, reboot, reimagining or sequel every week.

I’m honestly exhausted of seeing classic Disney films being remade in live-action. More famously, Marcel adapted Fifty Shades Of Greyfor film; we’re guessing Cruella will have significantly less sex, but who knows-maybe we’re in for an erotic Disney experience.
