‘Homeland’ Season 5 Spoilers: Will Carrie Mathison Be Killed?

And there’s plenty more where that came from in season five, as Carrie’s bid to leave her old life behind falls foul of Central Intelligence Agency leaks and shadowy conspiracies that see her dragged back into the deadly game of high-stakes spookery.

Homeland returned for Season 5 in the USA last Sunday (4th October) and it’s arriving here in the United Kingdom tonight (Sunday 11th October).

In the new episode 3 press release: Jonas and Carrie will revisit her past. Later in the promo Carrie can be seen crouching in the woods with a shotgun in her hand. “It’s two years later, and they’ve both moved on to other things”, Stiehm recently told E! But the volatile Carrie has a few demons of her own. She wasn’t buying it and neither were we – by the time the hour was out, Carrie had been ordered to Lebanon, successfully passed a message to the chief of militant group Hezbollah and been bound, kidnapped and threatened for her trouble. However, as long as the ratings continue to be strong and Claire Danes and Co. want to stay on, we know that won’t be the case.

As soon as Otto began giving his speech in the middle of this episode, I couldn’t stop biting my nails. Central Intelligence Agency officer Carrie Mathison (Emmy® winnerClaire Danes) believes he has been turned and become part of a plot to be carried out on American soil. Carrie Mathison, whether she’s with the Central Intelligence Agency or not, will always investigate.

Allison Carr (Miranda Otto, left) and Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) have a heated discussion in “Homeland” Season 5, episode 3.
