But what else can we learn from this 90-second slice of Victorian detective goodness?

As he amusement rides a wagon with the use of Watson, his assistant requests: “Well no doubt you would have belief?” “We wouldn’t have done the story we’re doing, and the way we’re doing it, if we didn’t have this special”.
BBC and Masterpiece previously released a clip at Comic-Con, but this new trailer is sure to get you even more jazzed about the special. ‘Why?’ he asks. ‘You’re Sherlock Holmes.
According to People magazine, this is not the first time “Sherlock” offered a glimpse of its Christmas special episode.
Now, the BBC has released another full-length trailer showing off our protagonist in the victorian Christmas special.
Although there have been speculations suggesting that Season 4 of “Sherlock” will air in 2017, Mofatt confirmed that the TV series will definitely air in 2016. Creator Steven Moffatt and Mark Gattis wrote the elongated episode, and favored co-stars such as Rupert Graves, Amanda Abbington, and Una Stubbs will be returning as well in appropriate period-accurate wardrobes and facial hair.
“The stage is set, the curtain rises”.
This “what if?” story transposes the consulting detective Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch), his partner in crime-solving Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) and other familiar characters back in time to Victorian-era London.
Horse-drawn carriages and pipes replace all the modern stuff fans used to see on the series, and Watson looks different with new mustache. How did Victorian era people like…deal, you know?
A fourth season of Sherlock will begin shooting in the European Spring, no date for the Sherlock Special has been announced yet.
This Christmas, Sherlock returns, but not as we’ve seen him before (at least in this iteration of the character).

“The special is its own thing”, Moffat said.
