Irish Gypsies, including infant, die in mobile home fire
The halting site at Glenamuck Road, Carrickmines, is now subject to examination by the Garda technical bureau, and the Assistant State Pathologist remains on the scene.

Ten people have died following a fire at a halting site on the Glenamuch Road, Carrickmines in the early hours of this morning.
The alarm was raised at 4.24am with six units of the Dublin Fire Brigade on the scene and a number of paramedics and ambulances.
No immediate information about the deceased was provided, but, reports said they were from two separate families. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted that there were “a number of fatalities on scene” and that two adults and two children had been taken to hospital. Four people including a child and a baby were taken to hospital.
Several people are believed to have been killed in the fire at a traveller site.
The president said: “This is a most terrible tragedy”.
Irish police confirm there have been a number of fatalities, but will not confirm a figure.
“It looks as though two of them caught fire in this incident”.
President Michael D. Higgins led political, church and community leaders in expressing shock at the tragic events.

“My thoughts at this time are with the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and those who have been injured”, he said.
