Pichai makes first major appointments as Google head

Sundar Pichai was given the title of Google CEO as part of the company’s Alphabet restructure and now Pichai has made his first changes according to Re/code.

This is Pichai’s first leadership reshuffling since he was announced as Google’s new CEO in August.

Lockheimer, has been supervising the creating of the Chrome Operating system and Android’s branching out into motorcars and durable devices since only a year ago, and he’s now publicly the Senior Vice President caring for Android, Chrome and Chromecast.

The Engadget reports that a number of Googlers are celebrating their promotions at the moment, one of the biggest winners being Hiroshi Lockheimer, who used to be the Android division’s VP.

It sounds like Pichai selected a few choice individuals who he has full trust in running a few of the intricate day-to-day responsibilities and operations of Google. Mohan was the former owner of DoubleClick, which Google acquired to grow their ads business.

Neal Mohan – from Vice President of display and video advertising to Senior Vice President of display and video advertising. Now he will continue to take on more responsibilities for Android, which he has been doing anyways since the reorganization.

Google (GOOG, GOOGL) ad exec Phillip Schindler has been named the company’s SVP of Global Sales and Operations. Schilling and Mohan will be needing to lead Google’s ads business in the face of growing competition from Facebook and Twitter.
