Whatsapp Download for iOS now available with starred chat messages and more
WhatsApp Google Drive backup brings good news to the popular messaging app user. You can also choose different backup schedules, and select if you want backups over Wi-Fi only or if you want it to backup over cellular too. Follow this guide to download WhatsApp 2.12.306 APK and install it manually on your smartphones. Until now, WhatsApp only offered local backups, however, users will now be able to backup chat messages to cloud with Google Drive. And even though the updated version hasn’t arrived on the Google Play Store yet, you can download it directly from WhatsApp right now. In fact, the Play Store version (2.12.304) has Drive support disabled and hence the functionality won’t be applicable for those using the most recent version, as per a report by Android Police. First up, you need to make sure that your handset will let you install apps from unknown sources. Here, you will find the downloaded WhatsApp APK file.

WhatsApp Google Drive backup strategy will enable users to create a private backup of their chat history, voice messages, photos and videos in Google Drive.
The site added that with the Google Drive backup feature of the Facebook-owned messaging service, users can already “restore their data with ease” should they own another new Android device where they have the WhatsApp installed.

“The new backup feature is rolling out over in the next few months, so keep an eye on your WhatsApp settings to see if it’s available”, Johnston said. All users who either lose their phones or switch to other phones can easily reclaim their chats that are safe on the Google Drive. Users will have to select “Chats and Calls” option and opt for frequency – daily, weekly, monthly or never – for saving their data, said Catch News.
