According to a spoiler by IBTimes, in the episode “Strike Force”, fans will see for the first time a new police commissioner by the name of Captain Nathaniel Barnes, who’s played by Michael Chiklis. Meanwhile, Penguin gets caught up in a favor for Galavan, and Nygma asks Kringle out on a date.

Check out the images in the gallery below. Galavan, who in last week’s episode explained that his ancestors helped build Gotham but received no acclaim for it, is planning to raze thousands of homes in Gotham to build massive skyscrapers, a plot that sounds similar to the Arkham property plot from last season. Join us, won’t you? Such bravado is meant to drive home the notion that Gordon and Barnes are cut from the same cloth due to their military backgrounds, but it doesn’t feel earned-the hacky line certainly doesn’t help either. Business on the street was good for all of them until Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) ruined it, and now there’s chaos throughout the city. Gordon realizes right away it was Penguin. The siblings have taken Penguin’s mother and are using her against him. But Penguin doesn’t think Gordon will want his past partnership with him exposed. Rather than just trust the audience to see the similarities between the two characters, Gotham has them literally explaining to each other how they’re basically the same person. Penguin doesn’t like being treated like he’s not the king of Gotham, so he tells Theo to find his own assassin. Alfred also bitch slaps Selina Kyle when she tries to meet Bruce at school, leaving the young cat burglar conflicted.

Theo Galavan announces he’s running for mayor of Gotham after Penguin stages a drive-by shooting that of course misses Galavan. Then, as the rivalry between the Waynes and the Galavans resurfaces, Gordon struggles to maintain order in the city.
