Jaglan’s initiative to help reduce female foeticide and improve the standing of women in the society was lauded as villagers started responding to his campaign.
The best three selfies were awarded with trophies, certificates and cash prize.
During his radio programme “Mann Ki Baat“, Modi had appealed people to share a selfie with their daughters and tag it as #SelfieWithDaughter to celebrate girl child. He said that this was a concept originally mooted by a Sarpanch in Haryana, which caught his eye. This is a part of his “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter) campaign.
“#SelfieWithDaughter becomes number 1 Twitter trend in India and also listed in worldwide trend”, Modi said on Sunday afternoon, according to NDTV.
The matter of illegal surveillance was taken up by the Supreme Court, which directed the petitioner to drop the “scandalous charges” against the prime minister. We take a look at the two varying reactions. “When I thought about the contest”, said Jaglan, “there were some who told me it was a very small initiative and will not make a difference”.
Objective Of The Modi Selfie With Daughter Programme. By Monday, his Twitter feed was flooded with images of proud dads embracing their daughters, not just in India but around the world, including in Sweden and South Africa.
To take the initiative forward, he suggested that on the upcoming Raksha Bandhan, boys should “gift” these policies to their sisters and even their maids and labourers.
