Barack Obama: Vladimir Putin not leading in Syria fight

Anyone who got beat up as a kid knows there’s no one weaker than a bully. Since that time the USA economy has continued to sputter making only slight improvements in the standard of living for most Americans.

He said on CBS News’ “60 Minutes” broadcast Sunday night that from the start he did not think it would work, even though his aides a year ago asked Congress to fund the program and proposed the rules.

And so Obama has lost Syria and a huge swath of Arab opinion for the United States by compounding Bush’s errors in the occupation of Iraq with his own. It’s hard to see how this might induce Russian Federation to stand down in Syria, and this idea also ignores how Putin may respond.

“Yes”, replied Obama. “You do?” said Kroft.

“Over time, the community of nations will all get rid of them, and we will be leading getting rid of them“.

“There’s a lot that I’d like to do to keep America moving”, adding Obama, “But the law is the law, and no person is above the law, not even the president”.

‘(Putin) has moved troops into Syria, for one.

That better explains why Putin would come to the full military aid of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, who has for years used brutal tactics to quell an internal political uprising. The occupation of Iraq was a failure, and Bush owns it, just as the cut and run from Iraq by Obama also failed. The crisis-The heart breaking scenes of death and desperation, the daunting task of resettling the refugees and the resulting tensions that have been created in Europe and other “host” countries-has effectively exposed to the entire world the brutality of the US policy of regime change as the culprit of the incalculable disaster. The president tried to make the case that Putin’s aggressive actions showed weakness – not strength. But when it comes to the Middle East, we’ve been intervening for so long that we all assume that everything that happens there will, of course, have a profound effect on the safety of Americans.

Within hours of the interview airing, it became commonplace for Obama supporters on social media to wail about how Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes was supposedly rude, disrespectful, or unfair toward the president, so of course NBC leads by describing the interview as “long” and “tense”.

The Middle East is more unstable than ever, with hundreds of thousands driven from their homes, enslaved or slaughtered. Steve Kroft is either a neoconservative or he is inculcated into the neocon mind-set that the USA must prevail everywhere. And so, we can do nothing and in fact, we retreat.

A basic mistake is that if something is like something else, then we should treat both things the same way.

U.S. President Barack Obama discussed the ongoing conflict in Syria and the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin in a recent interview.

President Barack Obama: Syria was Russia’s only ally in the region.

Asking Obama if he knew the Russian airstrikes where coming when he spoke with Putin at the U.N.is not an unfair or tricky question, and Obama should have known it was coming. Any further US program will be more streamlined, with a few air strikes and with anti-Assad fighters obtaining USA communications equipment.

However, Obama is too strong for him. “To the contrary, they are arguing that, in fact, that strategy will not work”. I think it is important for us to make sure that we explore all the various options that are available.
