Donald Trump Is ‘Master Brander,’ Says Bill Clinton on ‘Colbert’

“The fact that Trump and Carson, two personalities who are better known for their business and medical acumen, are polling so well reflects the frustration that Republican voters seem to have toward the political system”.

Despite the evident lead of Clinton and Trump in the polls voters are still wary of giving their all-out support for their top candidates for the presidential nomination.

The Swing State Poll focuses on Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania because no candidate has won the presidential race without taking at least two of these three states since 1960. In previous polls in the Buckeye State, Kasich has led the GOP field, and polls as recently as June had shown he’d beat Hillary Clinton in a matchup in the purple state.

Clinton solidly leads Democrats with or without the inclusion of Biden, who has not decided if he would run. Paired against Bush, Biden does slightly better, beating the former governor 46 percent to 42 percent.

That is an increase of five points for Trump since the last poll released by Quinnipiac, a month ago.

“I had a very pleasant conversation with him, but it wasn’t about running for president, so I missed the chance”, noted the man President Barack Obama once said could be the “secretary of explaining stuff”.

Despite this, more than half of voters surveyed in each state said they have an unfavorable opinion of Clinton.

Majorities in each state say Trump and Clinton have strong leadership qualities, the only other candidate viewed that way by majorities in all three states is Biden.

Clinton told Colbert that his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, mentioned that she ran into Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, who told Chelsea that Donald Trump had tried to call the former president.

“In America they believe that the Republicans have been rewarded for going further to the right”, mused Clinton, “so the Democrats would be even more effective if they moved further to the left”.

Trump gets a negative 34 – 58 percent favorability and voters say 54 – 38 percent he is not honest and trustworthy.

With support from 28% of Republican registered voters in Florida, Trump tops the GOP field there by 12 points, with Carson in second at 16%.

In Pennsylvania, Mrs. Clinton’s support among Democrats was down from 45 percent in August to 36 percent now.

The poll of 1,173 Florida voters was taken from September 25-Oct.

The margin of error in the Pennsylvania polls was 3%, while in Ohio it was 2.9%, the surveyors said. “Vote for me, ‘” Clinton said.
