Super Eagles coached by Sunday Oliseh were defeated 2-0 in a match dominated by the Congolese. He was ordered to apologise to his team-mates for his late arrival and the CSKA Moscow winger Ahmed Musa has been given the captaincy instead. A lot of people have asked why Oliseh “overlooked” the likes of Mikel, Echiejile, Onazi and other senior members of the team and handed the captain’s band to 22-year-old Musa. The NFF will support and respect the decision of the Head Coach of any of the National Teams at all times.
Lawal praised record-capped Enyeama, who retired after 13 years in the Eagles team. I don’t know how it degenerated to the point where a coach and his captain will be involved in such kind of confrontation and such exchange of words which doesn’t make sense at all. “He is my captain”. You wait till your last game or your last match then you announce retirement.
