Grizzlies acquire Matt Barnes from Hornets
The 34-year-old guard went to bed on Tuesday night to news that he had been traded from the Orlando Magic to the Memphis Grizzlies for the rights to Janis Timma.

It sounds like Barnes will stick with the Grizzlies, though.
As the Oklahoma City Thunder looks forward to the next season, a familiar face is leaving the team.
Yesterday morning, Ridnour was a member of the Orland Magic. The Hornets have been busy this offseason. On Wednesday, Charlotte also reportedly struck a deal to send Noah Vonleh and Gerald Henderson to Portland in return for Nick Batum.
Next year? They’ll have Barnes on the floor in exchange for Allen offensively – though both will play together, too – and not lose too much defensively. The Hornets acquired 7-foot-1, 245-pound power forward/center Hawes and Barnes as part of the Stephenson deal last week.

The 35-year-old Barnes averaged 10.1 points, four rebounds, and a career-high 29.9 minutes for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. He now has been traded six times in his career. Charlotte received Luke Ridnour from Memphis and plans to waive the veteran guard before his non-guaranteed contract kicks in. That $14.6 million figure includes the cap holds for Willie Green, Tobias Harris and Kyle O’Quinn and the salary for the fifth overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft. They were the two leading scorers in the Huskies’ 2010-11 national championship run. He averaged seven points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in three seasons with the Thunder, according to ESPN.
