Israel to build dividing fence on Jordanian border – Middle East Monitor

Israel also has a separation barrier that runs through the occupied West Bank, which it began building during the second Palestinian intifada, or uprising, which lasted from 2000-2005.
He added that the Security Cabinet authorized on Sunday the fence’s construction and funding.
“The security wall is essential to maintaining Israel’s national security”, Netanyahu stressed.
Netanyahu’s office stressed that Israel was in contact with Jordan over the fence, which will be built exclusively on Israeli soil. It is not far from the Jordanian frontier and has been described as an alternative to the main worldwide airport in Tel Aviv.
